Kay Abbs

Kay has worked in the public sector for the majority of her professional career, mainly with the NHS and the police. She values the vital work that those services provide to our local communities and firmly believes in them being properly resourced to meet the needs of the diverse populations within our local communities.

She has held a number of voluntary roles and acted as a Governor at Raglan Primary School as well as being an active member of the Parent's Association.

Kay has had a keen interest in politics for years but is now able to become more involved and active in local politics as her children are now young adults and she has more time available to support her local community.

She is a feminist and believes in the goal of the feminist movement - that each person should have the freedom to live the way they want to live unhindered by sexism, oppression or aggression.

In her spare time Kay loves to read and has been a member of a book club that has met monthly for over 20 years. She firmly believes in access to books for all and that reading and education provide a vehicle for people to be able to determine their own lives.

She also loves to walk and enjoy the green spaces that Bromley has to offer and wants to protect and enhance our local green and built environment for all in our local population.
